LOST LOVE ARCHIVE ROLLING PIN

Emily’s mother owned a bake house.  She was very proud of her achievements, including her schooling and what she achieved as a baker.  She talked about sights, smells and sounds that reminded her of her mother and growing up.

The object she feels brings her closer to her mother is a rolling pin that she put into her drawer when she had died and started using instead of her own when baking.  She talked about how it felt in her hands and the comfort of it.  Also, how she feels she’s connected to her mother whilst baking.  She values it even more than other objects, even her mother’s engagement ring, as it is an object through its use that brings them together.
