CHARLIEGOLDTHORPE

Absence was my 2011 collection based around objects linked to individuals in my life.

Each piece plays with the idea of absence and presence of the actual object and the owner.

It combines casting processes in translucent silicone with traditional leather working skills to produce artefacts that combine  heritage with modern production techniques.

The objects appear to portray 'ghosts' of their former selves.

The collection was exhibited in 2015 in the Santa Croce crypt in Florence as part of the 'Momenting the Memento' IFFTI conference in conjunction with Polimoda.
